Martial Eagle in flight

Martial eagle

We photographed this martial eagle from our bungalow in Olifants camp.

We had been watching vultures and one or two bateleurs with our binoculars when suddenly this eagle appeared in front of our bungalow. We had time to get off just three shots - the first two were not in focus but the third was perfect. Fortunately our camera was setup on a tripod so it was just a metter of 'point and shoot'!

great shot
by: bart

That is actually a great shot. I have set up pretty much everything in my canon 550 D but I can never get a shot like this. I would like to get a few tips. It would be great if you could post the camera settings that you had done for your cam.

Nice perspective!
by: Terrence

What a nice picture! Most birds in flight are taken pointing the lens upwards so the angle here of being on the same level as the bird is great, well done.
