Terrapin on Hippo's head

Terrapin on Hippo's head

We walked into the Rathlogo hide on I think the 24th Dec 2012, and saw about 12 people all on their hands and knees, well i first thought it was the end of the world, and everyone was praying, then realised that there was a hippo under the lookout. As we looked over the rail the hippo emerged, and a terrapin crawled onto its head.

Now that is an unusual sighting. Thanks for sharing this great pic and story with us, I love the way the terrapin sits in the middle of the hippos head.

"It's 768 pages of the most amazing information. It consists of, well, everything really. Photography info...area info...hidden roads..special places....what they have seen almost road by road. Where to stay just outside the Park...camp information. It takes quite a lot to impress me but I really feel that this book, which was 7 years in the making, is exceptional."            - Janey Coetzee, founder of CAROK (Camps and Roads of Kruger)  South Africa
