Bateleur in the Road

Bateleur

Bateleur

Sherry and I were driving up the the H10 and had just passed the Nkumbe view site thinking about breakfast at Tshokwane, when in the middle of the road was a Bateleur. Now we've taken lots of Bateleur photos, but none from less than 10 meters of a bird that basically just stood there. He had caught breakfast and was in the process of eating and didn't care about us at all. We spent several minutes photographing this dramatic bird then went on to our breakfast.

The H10 is our favorite road in the park, and we've seen all of the big 5 (if you accept the white rhino as part of this group) along with cheetah, wild cats and civit as well as the usual zebra, antelope etc.

Hope you enjoy the photos.

"It's 768 pages of the most amazing information. It consists of, well, everything really. Photography info...area info...hidden roads..special places....what they have seen almost road by road. Where to stay just outside the Park...camp information.
