KGALAGADI 2015 - WITH FAMILY & FRIENDS

Our 1st visit to The Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park was in 2012 (2-12 August 2012).

Talking to my brother and his wife, Andronicus & Salome Graham and our neighbors, Etienne & Carmen Pohl we decided to plan and book a trip to The Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park during May 2015 (16-23 May 2015). Etienne & Carmen also decided to invite their German friends, Reinhard & Beate Knauder, on this trip.

Our itinerary looked as follows:-

What an awesome experience for us!

Our stopover in Van Zylsrus was also a great highlight of our journey together!

On the 1st morning (17 May), my brother Andronicus and me, left for early morning drive. To our big surprise, what did we
find at Craig Lockhart? Yes, BIG CATS, ie LIONS! When we returned to the camp the rest of the party didn't believe us, but we had PROOF! Indeed, PROOF! Thereafter, early morning drives were the norm! Hahahaha . . . I told them so!

On the morning of 20 May 2015 we found two lionesses with a kill - we spent the whole day at this sighting! Awesome times! Many photographic opportunities! Yes!

During 2015, I was fortunate to acquire the wonderful book by oom Piet Heymans about 'Ousus - Lady of the Kalahari'. Therefore, a much anticipated visit was made to Bedinkt waterhole to celebrate and reminiscence this wonderful story as told by oom Piet.

We left Nossob on the morning of 21 May 2015 and a near hit by three Cheetahs on a Springbok was sighted. Eish!

Being a keen birder as well, I found many opportunities to make the trip even so more enjoyable. The photographic book (see link below) showcases some of my pictures.

After our trip, I also made a QPHOTO PHOTOBOOK as a memory of excellent times with family and newly found friends, ie Reinhard and Beate from Germany. Herewith the link to experience our journey with us.

As you can see and sense, we had a wonderful time as family and friends together! Looking forward to our next journey!

"It's 768 pages of the most amazing information. It consists of, well, everything really. Photography info...area info...hidden roads..special places....what they have seen almost road by road. Where to stay just outside the Park...camp information. It takes quite a lot to impress me but I really feel that this book, which was 7 years in the making, is exceptional."            - Janey Coetzee, founder of CAROK (Camps and Roads of Kruger)  South Africa
