The big 5

by Desmond
(Potchefstroom)

Leopard relaxing

Leopard relaxing

We visit the Kruger twice a year and Sept 2009 was by far the best year ever.
We were there for 8 days and saw the big 5 every day and sometimes got them 3 times a day!
We drove 4500km in those 8 days but it was all worth it.
The Kruger's the best place if you just want to relax and have fun with your family.

4500 km in 8 days! That is almost 600 k a day. In sep when gates open 12 hours equals the speed limit on the tar road 12 hours a day. How did you stop and see game? Or have lunch? You stretch the truth too far with distance/speed so rest of your story of big 5 every day for 8 days totally unbelievable let me guess - you also a fisherman? Love to hear those stories!

DIY Big-5 sightings!
by: Mario

Who needs the private lodges to see the big-5! The Kruger is a magical place Desmond - and you have discovered the very best time to visit the park! Most people think 'winter' and go to the park in May/June/July yet the end of winter is the best time as there is the least water and the animals are most active.
