Hippo at Mankwe dam

by Christo Nel
(Rustenburg)

I went to Mankwe dam during the week, because it is usually more quite than on weekends. Well, it was my lucky day. There were about 7 hippos playing around, not even 30 meters away.

You're so right about the park being quiet during the week! We were there last week and saw just 12 other vehicles per day! Normally over weekends we could see 12 vehicles every 15 minutes. And you most probably had these hippos to yourself!

"It's 768 pages of the most amazing information. It consists of, well, everything really. Photography info...area info...hidden roads..special places....what they have seen almost road by road. Where to stay just outside the Park...camp information.
