African wildcat

Peekaboo!

We saw this cat scurry across the road at Dalkeith waterhole and he disappeared into the grass. We stopped the car and scanned with binoculars but we couldn't see him. As we were about to drive off my wife looked up into the large Camelthorn tree we were parked under and there he was peeping at us!!

We have been going to the Kruger and Kalahari for years and have never seen one of these elusive cats! Well done on your perseverance in finding and photographing him!
